Program Contacts

As you prepare for and embark on your study abroad experience, you will be in contact with various staff members from BU Study Abroad, both in Boston and abroad. To avoid missing important information, please add “@bu.edu” to your address book. Please keep all emails in a folder for your reference as you prepare for your semester abroad. Program Dates

The CGS London Summer 1 Semester begins on Sunday, May 17 (depart U.S. May 16) and ends on Saturday, June 27.  Students can arrive one day early free of charge, May 16, by indicating this on their London Personal Page. 

Saturday, May 16— day 1 arrivals
Sunday, May 17— day 2 arrivals (no later than 12pm noon) + mandatory London orientation
Monday, May 18—Faculty orientation + first mandatory field trip for students
Tuesday, May 19—classes begin
Friday, June 26—last day of classes
Saturday, June 27—depart London

The CGS London Summer 2 Semester begins on Sunday, June 28 (depart U.S. June 27 ) and ends on Saturday, August 8. Students can arrive one day early free of charge, June 27, by indicating this on their London Personal Page. 

Saturday, June 27— day 1 arrivals
Sunday, June 28— day 2 arrivals (no later than 12pm noon) + mandatory London orientation
Monday, June 29— Faculty orientation + first mandatory field trip for students

Neither late arrivals nor early departures are permitted. We urge you to not make any weekend travel plans or signup for any BU London Social Programme events until you arrive on site and receive the finalized course and program schedule.

During the semester, you must fulfill strict attendance requirements and will be very busy with classes, program activities, and assignments. If family and friends plan to visit, please schedule trips to take place before the start of on-site orientation or after the semester ends. The first and last weeks of the program are critical to your success and require your full attention. By timing visits to coincide before or after the program start and end dates, you can meet attendance requirements and take full advantage of your study abroad experience.
