Cécile Godefroy defended her Ph.D at the Sorbonne in 2006, on Sonia Delaunay’s pictorial and applied art.  She has a significant record of teaching and research in France and among American students in Paris, and is intimately familiar with Paris as a preeminent center of museums and galleries. She brings a thorough knowledge of many artistic traditions and movements and a special insight to Paris as a converging locus of twentieth-century avant-gardes. Cécile recently contributed to the exhibition catalogues Décor & Installations (Paris, Gobelins, 2011), Picasso 43 Works (Malaga, Museo Picasso, 2010), Picasso Looks at Degas (Williamstown, Clark Art Institute & Barcelone, Museu Picasso, 2010), Chefs-d’œuvre ? (Metz, Centre Pompidou, 2010), Sonia Delaunay in Bielefeld (Bielefeld, Kunsthalle, 2008), and collaborated on the authoritative book L’Art moderne et contemporain (Larousse, 2006).  She is the author of a book designed for the iPad, dedicated to Mona Lisa, A Living Portrait (ed. Nuage, 2012). Associate Researcher at the Fundación Almine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso para el Arte (FABA), Cécile also works as an art critic for Arte Creative and Adagp (L’Atelier A : http://ateliera.creative.arte.tv). Since 2006, she has taught CAS AH 356 French Modern and Contemporary Art.
