Worldwide Travel Alert

Study Abroad would like to inform its program participants about the State DepartmentĀ Worldwide Travel Alert issued August 2, 2013. This alert and the temporary closure of several U.S. embassies and consulates are good reminders of the need for heightened vigilance and situational awareness while traveling.

The alert does not, however, warn against international travel or suggest any restrictions on travel beyond those specified in existing U.S. State Department Travel Warnings.

Travelers should pay careful attention to any State Department messages. U.S. citizens can receive the latest U.S. State Department travel updates and information by enrolling in the U.S. State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program. Citizens of other countries should check with their consulate or embassy to see if a similar service is available.

If you have any questions, please contact Find additional information in theĀ health and safety section of our website.
