Update: London Disturbances

Message to Students from the Director of British Programs:

Dear Students,

This is an update to my message earlier today.

There will be 16,000 police on the streets of London tonight in a bid to prevent further outbreaks of violence. Due to this and the likelihood of sporadic violence again tonight I urge all students to stay in housing tonight and not to go out as you cannot tell where and when you may run into trouble.

There are current reports of a heavy police presence in Hammersmith (3 tube stops away) due to suspicion that looting may occur on the High Street.

Please share this with your parents and please do be in touch with any questions.

I will be in touch with any further advice.

Regards,
Alison
