Dear Readers,

Welcome to 236, the Alumni Literary Journal of the BU Creative Writing MFA Program. We publish exclusively the work of our alumni, with one faculty contributor in each issue.

In Spring 2013, we’re excited to include “Away We Go,” a poem by our featured faculty member Dan Chiasson; an excerpt from Big Girl Small, a novel by Rachel DeWoskin (Poetry 2000); a short story by Jenna Blum (Fiction 1997), bestselling author of Those Who Save Us; Ani Gjika’s poem “Location,” from her new book Bread on Running Waters; and a scene from “Sick,” by award-winning playwright Zayd Dohrn (Plays 2000)–as well as many other wonderful poems and stories that we are lucky to reprint or, in some cases, debut.

236.5 is the last issue for which Rebekah Stout (Poetry 2010) will be our poetry editor. We will miss her very much here at BU Creative Writing, but look forward to following her upcoming adventures.

Please click below on the cover, designed by Zachary Bos (Poetry 2009) and featuring one of the landmarks of our beloved Boston–or click Current Issue to read this spring’s magazine. Thank you for tuning in!

Best wishes,
Caroline Woods
